Clients in this stage are supported to change behaviours in order to gain evidence against the fears/phobias that drive their eating disorder. Sessions involve one on one counselling with a counsellor, dietitian and extended sessions with an experiential counsellor. Families are encouraged to participate in the gathering of evidence and supporting the process of change. This stage is vital in preparing a client for change in a less structured and supervised environment.
Program Goals:
• To increase confidence to choose and initiate change and cope with life without an eating disorder
• To increase the diversity of life experiences and food choices
• To enhance the individuals attachment to relationships in their outer world and reduce their attachment to their eating disorder
