Significant Achievements and Involvement:

We have played a key role in the development and delivery of the World Wide Charter for Action on eating disorders, a document detailing the rights and expectations for people with eating disorders and their families. This Charter, produced through collaboration between the International Academy of Eating Disorders and professional and patient/carer organisations around the world has as is core value, the imperative of a partnership involving patients, their families and the healthcare team in order to deliver quality eating disorder services.

The task force worked across 12 time-zones, communicating by e-mail and teleconferencing. A web-based survey of people with eating disorders, their families, carers and eating disorder health professionals drew 1,730 responses from 46 countries across a 6 week period.
