Vision, Mission, Values
Mission
Our mission is ‘to walk the fine line between professionalism and humanity’ through our commitment to provide; equal access to dignified, effective treatment that responds to worldwide best practice and research; improve community understanding of Eating Disorders; provide specialist training for professionals, and advocacy for all.Vision
Together we envisage a future where:• Far fewer people suffer with eating disorders and far more people truly recover
• Skilled and compassionate eating disorder experts are working as teams with clients and families in every local community
• Prevention and Early Intervention Programs are reducing the prevalence, severity and impact of eating disorders
• The objectification of women and men in the media is no longer acceptable
The Values that guide us in our work
The Bronte centre at St. Vincent’s is passionate about enhancing the community’s ability to understand and respond appropriately to eating disorders. Accordingly we are dedicated to sharing what we know with others so that our informed, respectful, non-punitive, consultative approach to treatment can be replicated within existing community health networks. We see a future where individuals can find treatment which offers continuity of care and helpful therapy right in their own back yard. We see family and carers as an integral part of the recovery process and invaluable partners in treatment.
